2024 Ride – GPS Tracks

July 17, 2024

As always – following the ribbons is the gold standard as the route could have been changed for whatever reason. But if something doesnʻt feel right, check the track as well.

This year we are offering the track for the Ride in three formats. Please select whichever best fits your needs:

  • Basic .GPX Track: This is the raw file that will need to be loaded into your GPS device
  • Gaiagps.com Route: For those who use Gaia, this route can be pulled into your app.
  • Rides With GPS: A first for this ride, and hopefully will help our more directionally challenged riders, especially during the dark portions.
    • You will need a Rides With GPS account (but do not need a paid subscription) and the app installed on your phone.
    • This track has some limited voice cues for the daylight portion, and from Foresthill onwards has voice cues for any specific turns during the night.
    • Once you click on the link and have access to the route, you should ‘download for offline’ from their Routes, and then the route will appear in your Offline tab. At that point you can navigate from that link in your app.
    • To best conserve your phone battery, we recommend to put your phone in airplane mode, close all other apps, and keep the screen off as much as possible. A screen left on will drain your battery quickly. Charge your phone at the vet check and carry a portable power pack just in case.
    • Please ensure that your phone is sufficiently charged before you leave Foresthill in order to take advantage of the night-time voice cues.
