Friday June 14th, 6:00pm
The Western States Trail – The Sierra Gem program by History Expedition members, Tim Twietmeyer, Hal Hall, and Bob Crowley will include a short-version of film and historic photographs of the route from Carson City, Nevada to Sacramento, California, mixed with presentations about why geology created the existing trail corridor, trail use by Native Americans, what early settlers found, gold rush mining activities, camps and settlements, modern day uses, and an update on the proposed National Recreation Trail designation.
The program presentation serves to promote the upcoming Tevis Cup Ride and Western States Endurance Run to the public.
Proceeds from the program goes toward the non-profit Auburn State Theatre organization for their building renovation.
