Due to large amounts of snow, the upcoming trail work day has been regretfully cancelled. At this point, the March 11th/12th days are also in question because the weather pattern looks like it will last another week or so. Please check the website closer to the event.

Current Trail Reconditioning Status
We are confident the Ride will happen this year!
Although the USFS has officially closed the Mosquito Fire area through the end of 2023, they have been strong partners in getting the necessary work done to ensure that the trail is ready for both the Western States Run and the Tevis Cup in 2023.
Trailwork Update
The trail teams were able to get some great work done before the weather turned. They have been hard at work in El Dorado Canyon, as well as on the California Street section. Volunteer work has been postponed until the weather improves, but please consider signing up to help out once things dry out.

WST Reconditioning Project
With the announcement of the WSTF Action Plan, many supporters of the Western States Trail have expressed interest in helping with trail repair and upkeep. We’ve been touched by offers of time and money. We can use the help and would love to have it.
So, let’s get it done!
WSTF Action Plan
The WSTF BOG joins the entire endurance community in grieving the accidents that occurred at this year’s Ride. We are committed to reducing the likelihood of future accidents and improving potential outcomes. To that end, we have identified two key areas on which to focus our time and resources.
In Memoriam
We are devastated to have to share that two horses have died as a result of injuries sustained during the 2022 Tevis Cup ride.
