Tevis Ride Management is keeping a close eye on the snow level and snowpack at elevation. At this point we are still planning to use the traditional trail on the published date.
As a back-up plan, we are considering an alternate start/route – similar to the start/route used in 2017.

Educational Ride
Entries for this year’s Ed Ride (July 7th-9th) are live! The Ed Ride is aimed at riders wishing to participate in the Tevis Cup Ride in the future. This year, riders will enjoy a night ride to Michigan Bluff to eat ice cream; complete the CA Loop on Saturday, followed by speakers in the afternoon; then ride the Canyons from Robinson Flat to Chicken Hawk on Sunday. This year auditors are also welcome for the Saturday afternoon speakers.
Hit that Bucket List!
Is this your year to cross the mountains, to check that epic Tevis Cup One Hundred Miles One Day Ride off of your bucket list?
Is it time for you to traverse the Western States Trail that was used by the indigenous people, then the gold-seekers, and eventually Wendell Robie many years later?
March 5th Trail Work Day Cancelled
Due to large amounts of snow, the upcoming trail work day has been regretfully cancelled. At this point, the March 11th/12th days are also in question because the weather pattern looks like it will last another week or so. Please check the website closer to the event.
Trail Work Days – New Dates
Western States Trail Stewardship has announced five days in March and April to do dirt and rock work on the trail after the Mosquito Fire. This work will be done on either CA Loop (west of Foresthill) or in El Dorado Canyon (east of Michigan Bluff).

Current Trail Reconditioning Status
We are confident the Ride will happen this year!
Although the USFS has officially closed the Mosquito Fire area through the end of 2023, they have been strong partners in getting the necessary work done to ensure that the trail is ready for both the Western States Run and the Tevis Cup in 2023.
